Featured: Hunter Boots

I just had to do a post on my Hunters. They are my babies. If I could wear them all day every day I would and I'd even wear them in my sleep! My sister turned me on to these because of their color. Tiffany blue/green is MY color. I think everyone needs a signature color, or two, or three. (Remember my pink on pink on purple post?) As excited as I was when she emailed the link to me, I was way less excited when I couldn't find them anywhere in America - which she had warned me about. So I found a company in Europe (www.Allsoles.com) and got on their email list and waited. A few months later I woke up to an email with 25% off code inside. I couldn't contain my excitement! And the day they came in was like Christmas and my birthday all rolled into one! My babies had arrived safely and more perfect than I could have imagined!

Featured: Pink, Pink, & Purple

THROWBACK THURSDAY! hahaha

Shorts: Pink Umbro
Shirt: Pink and white stripes
Shoes: Purple shine platform converse look-a-likes.

What?!? Who was I. A girl who LOVED (loves) pink and purple. Just maybe not combined like this anymore.

Can we talk about my fanny pack. It is red striped with a cute little girl's head on it. I still have this somewhere. The contents - wallet, disposable camera, chapstick and probably my contact information in case I got lost. Thanks Dad and Mom. And that hat. Burn it. HaHa.

We were at the Baseball Hall of Fame in Cooperstown, NY in front of Mark McGuire's uniform. I love baseball. My siblings are probably thanking me for cropping them out this week! haha

Monday Musings: Returning to my Alma Mater

It is still strange to me that I have a college Alma Mater. When did that happen? Oh yea, a year ago! There's nothing like the pride and love I have for The University of Georgia and there's nothing that gives me chills like hearing Larry Munson's voice giving tribute and leaving us with those "two very simple words…GO DAWGS!" as the team rushes on the field and the Battle Hymn of the South being played in the Southwest corner of the Stadium. Wow sorry, that's probably a run-on sentence. Good thing I didn't major in English at UGA! ha

I may not know that many people still sitting in the student section at the football games, but that doesn't hinder me from wanting to still cheer on my Dawgs with fellow UGA students and alums :-)

Monday Musings:The Mountains

This weekend I spent time in the mountains with some of my friends from college. The weather could not have been more perfect and we even saw a bear! It was so close to our house! I'm not going to lie…he looked a tad bit cuddly if you ask me.

Anyway it was a great weekend and when we went hiking, I was reminded of the majesty of God and the beauty of His handiwork.

My photos do not do it justice, but at least you can imagine. We went at the right time for the trees to have most of the leaves still on them and turned all the right shades of fall :-)

Featured: Baby Throwback

Here's to my first Throwback Thursday blog post!

Those curls! Why is it so much work for me to have curls now? Haha
Anyway, lets look at that skirt...do we say peplum, or ruffles?
And plaid.
And a turtleneck, with puppies in love.
Baby girl got style!

We think this is from my older brother's 5th birthday! (He just turned 26 this month!) Not sure if the family portrait was taken at our house with a backdrop, or if Mom decided to dress us like this again for the picture. At least we all have on some red??

Styled: Easy, Breezy

Skirt: hi-lo hemline by I.N. Studio (dillards.com)
Necklace: Ana & Ava (dillards.com)
Jean Jacket: American Eagle
Basic white tee-shirt/tank

This was my go-to outfit for the summer. Anytime I had to travel but still wanted to look put-together, this outfit was it. I would mix up the jewelry and then shoes to compliment the jewelry. When I flew to NYC this past spring I chose this outfit for the airport - slide off the sandals and remove the jacket - easy, breezy!

Another way to make this an easy outfit? It takes me forever to dry and straighten my hair, so for this look I just put some goop in my hair and wielded the blow dryer. :-)

Styled: The Polo Match

Dress: Anny Taylor Loft
Clutch: Grandma's hand-me-down

Last Fall my Dad took me to my first Polo Match! I like fancy things and was so excited to go to TimberRock's first Polo Match. The biggest question of all - WHAT TO WEAR?! Sundays in October in the South can be either hot or have a slight chill in the air, so deciding on what to wear was not easy. Our tickets were in the Owner's tent which added pressure on me to wear the right dress. I had recently bought this dress from Ann Taylor Loft and couldn't wait to wear it. I was a little hot in the long sleeves but the weight of the fabric was light enough not to bother me that much. The only thing missing was a big, fancy hat! My clutch was one of my grandmother's before she passed. She would have loved going to a Polo match :-) We were actually standing on red carpet! I felt so famous! HaHa!

Adding a belt gave this sheath dress a silhouette, but I also wear it with a big chunky necklace and no belt.

Musings: Running Errands

Shirt: Chelsea & Violet
Shorts: Gianni Bini
Wedges: Off Broadway Shoes
Necklace: Dillard's

I had just left the gym and had several errands I needed to get done. I had two options. One - go out in my Norts (nike shorts) and extra-large T-shirt or Two - go home, shower, and put myself together. I decided that since I was out of college, running errands in Norts was not the best option. While getting dressed I heard an interview with Brad Goreski (Its a Brad, Brad World) and he said "Dressing comfortable, doesn't mean dressing lazy". So I was glad I decided to shower before running errands (and I needed to break in my new closed-toe wedges!)

Yes, we turned our wet bar into a coffee bar!!

Featured: A Grown Up Tote

Bag: Jessica Simpson
Jean Jacket: American Eagle
Sweater: Ann Taylor Loft
Purse Tie: Tiffany & Co.
Leggings: Belk

Oversized sweaters are what I love most about fall, and I've always loved a big tote. I got this Jessica Simpson one a year ago at Belk as my 'grown-up' girl tote. It took me close to an hour to decide to buy this bag!! After graduating college I knew I needed to rid my purse box of all my cheap totes and invest in one that could hold my new MacBook, coaching clipboard, and basketball stat book (along with my make-up, brush, crochet, snacks, books). I traveled with my cheerleaders to all the away basketball games and needed something reliable. I've put this Jessica to the test and she has never failed me. I even pack in it for overnight stays! :-)

Styled: Denim on Denim

Well, all in good taste.

This is what we don't want

But let's be honest, no one will commit this fashion faux pas ever again.

I think I found the following picture on Pinterest but I'm not entirely sure, so I apologize for not crediting the right person.

This is a better way to wear denim on denim

Shorts: Gianni Bini
Shirt: Westbound
Shoes: Chinese Laundry

Where's my fedora?? JK, I don't have one. Chambray is continuing to be a trend this fall and can be a great transition piece for your wardrobe. Here it's being paired with shorts and my Chinese Laundry sandals, because it's still August and you can't tell but I just got a fresh pedi with a friend! The Georgia Clemson game is in a few weeks, so of course I got Georgia Red! But back to the clothes...as fall approaches, this outfit can be worn with your favorite pair of boots! :-)

Styled: Feminine Leather

Recently I went to a wedding of two dear friends and this was my outfit.

The dress: Gianni Bini
Purse, shoes, and watch: Michael Kors (obsessed!)
Necklace: Ana & Ava
All can be purchased at a Dillard's near you or online.

Leather is one of the top trends right now and although I wouldn't normally consider myself a leather person, I was in love with this dress when it first came in. The illusion dress (shorter skirt with longer illusion layer) is another hot trend. I think the femininity of the illusion skirt tones down the leather top. I loved dancing in this and felt a combination of rockstar and girly girl.

I used to never succumb to what I thought were major fashion no-nos: black & blue or black & brown/gold. But thankfully I've realized I was limiting my closet and have broken those old rules! Because the skirt on this dress is a tan color I felt the brown luggage colored MK bag was perfect. The wedding was a few hours away so it was also big enough to hold all my essentials without toting a tote. And the MK shoes were so very comfortable! Towards the end of the night my feet began to hurt, but that's only because this was my first time wearing them and I had stopped dancing! I need to hem the dress a bit but the heels are a great height to wear anytime.

I wore my hair up at the suggestion of an old college roommate in order to show off the neck & necklace. I had intended to wear a low elegant bun, buy my ends weren't cooperating and so I left it in a ponytail with the bangs down.
